We are happy to announce Mickey De Kruyf has been selected as the American Network of Community Options and Resources (ANCOR) 2023 Idaho Direct Support Professional (DSP) of the Year. Mickey was chosen from a field of hundreds of outstanding nominees. The DSP of the Year award serves as a testament to those who work to support individuals in the community.
Mickey is an amazing mentor, friend, advisor, caregiver, coach, and guide for the people she supports. Mickey is constantly thinking of new ways for those she supports to get involved in their community and stops at nothing to support them in pursuing the life they want to live.
One of the people Mickey supports is passionate about massage therapy and has always wanted a career but has had a hard time finding the right balance of job coaching. Mickey has supported this individual in maintaining a part-time job at a local spa. Together, they have worked on client and employee relations, techniques, and time management.
The person Mickey supports looks forward to going to work and helping others feel better. Mickey’s work is an example of how DSPs impact more than just the lives of the people they support.
