What is Self-Directed Care?

Self-directed home care services are a type of long-term care that helps people of all ages living with disabilities stay safe and independent in their homes.

When you self-direct, you decide:

  • To stay in your home and community.
  • Who provides your care, maybe even friends or family.
  • How and when your care is done—you’re in control.

If you need help at home, self-direction may be an option for you.

Consumer Direct Care Network Idaho

Consumer Direct Care Network Idaho (CDID) serves as the Fiscal/Employer Agent (F/EA) for qualifying adults and children living with physical, intellectual, or developmental disabilities who elect to self-direct their in-home care.

Self-Directed Personal Care gives you the most control over your in-home care. You hire and train your caregiver. You manage your caregiver’s daily work and approve their timecard. CDID supports you by taking care of paperwork, such as background checks, payroll, and taxes.

Our programs are here to support you in the comfort and safety of your home.
